Seeing ACE Machinery on the Nasdaq billboard in Times Square may look like a short advertising moment. Behind that screen, however, is a much longer story involving manufacturing, engineering, export markets and more than 30 years of experience working with overseas customers.

For ACE Machinery, the appearance was not simply about putting a company logo on a very large screen. A billboard cannot improve hydraulic response, tighten a loose fitting or make spare parts arrive faster. What it can do is make a company visible. The harder job is making sure the manufacturing capability behind that visibility deserves the attention.

That is why the Times Square milestone matters: it connects ACE Machinery’s development as a Chinese construction machinery manufacturer with a broader goal of building a recognizable global construction equipment brand.

Why the Nasdaq Times Square Billboard Matters

Times Square already offers scale that is difficult to ignore. According to Nasdaq, its Times Square advertising properties attract more than 41.9 million visitors annually, while the seven-story Nasdaq Tower provides around 10,000 square feet of branding space. Nasdaq also offers the Nasdaq Marquee and other digital advertising positions around MarketSite. Source: Nasdaq MarketSite Advertising.

Those numbers help explain why companies use the location for product launches, milestones and corporate announcements. For a machinery manufacturer, however, visibility has a different job than it does for a fashion or beverage brand. Nobody sees a mini excavator company on a screen and immediately orders twenty machines before lunch.

Construction equipment buyers usually have more questions. Which engine is installed? Does the machine meet local emissions requirements? Can the supplier match hydraulic attachments correctly? What happens when a dealer needs parts six months later? Has the machine been tested before shipment? In other words, the screen may start the conversation, but engineering has to finish it.

From Mini Excavator Manufacturing to Global Market Fit

ACE Machinery currently focuses on 1–3.8 ton mini excavators and mini excavator attachments including hydraulic breakers, augers, quick hitches, grapples, rakes and buckets. Its manufacturing and quality inspection process covers component preparation, welding, painting, hydraulic assembly, electrical checks, machine testing and final inspection before export.

These steps matter because an excavator cannot be designed around operating weight alone. Two machines may both be called “2-ton mini excavators” while requiring different engines, attachments or configurations depending on where they will work.

Emission regulations are a good example. Under the European Union’s Stage V rules for relevant non-road engines from 19 kW to 560 kW, particulate-mass limits reach 0.015 g/kWh, while particle-number limits are 1 × 10¹² particles/kWh. Source: EU Regulation 2016/1628.

That is more than regulatory paperwork. Engine selection influences packaging, cooling, maintenance, cost and the markets in which a machine can legally operate. An engineer therefore has to think several steps beyond “Will this engine fit?” The better question is: Will this complete machine configuration fit the buyer’s market and application?

Why Mini Excavators Are an Important Global Product Category

The numbers also show why compact equipment deserves serious attention from Chinese manufacturers. Off-Highway Research reported that new mini excavator sales in China increased 28% in 2025 to 42,980 units. Exports increased 16% to 35,500 units, showing that overseas demand has become an important part of the sector rather than a small side business. Source: Off-Highway Research.

The same research found that indigenous Chinese manufacturers accounted for 91% of China’s mini excavator sales in 2025. That figure creates an interesting challenge. When many manufacturers are capable of building machines, simply saying “we manufacture excavators in China” is no longer a strong differentiator. Buyers have plenty of factories to choose from.

The real competition shifts toward details: stable quality, engine options, attachment compatibility, documentation, spare-parts support, export experience and communication after the machine leaves the factory. This is one reason ACE Machinery’s Times Square appearance should be viewed as part of a wider brand strategy rather than as an isolated advertising event. The goal is not only to manufacture equipment, but to make overseas dealers and customers understand who is standing behind that equipment.

What Global Dealers Actually Need From a Machinery Supplier

That becomes even more important when equipment markets are uncertain. The Committee for European Construction Equipment reported that European construction equipment sales fell 19% in 2024, before recovering by 4.6% in 2025. The recovery was moderate rather than explosive, with earthmoving equipment broadly flat. Source: CECE.

For a dealer, a market like that changes the buying calculation. Inventory sitting in a yard costs money. A poorly matched machine costs even more if it creates warranty work, slow parts turnover or unhappy customers.

Price still matters, of course. Engineers have not discovered a magical hydraulic circuit that makes budgets disappear. But purchase price is only one part of the decision. Dealers and rental companies also need to consider whether a model suits local applications, whether common parts are available, whether attachments can be matched correctly and whether the supplier can provide technical support when something goes wrong.

ACE Machinery’s current manufacturing process includes checks on frame quality, hydraulic layout, hose routing, engine installation, control response and attachment compatibility. Before shipment, machines also undergo visual inspection, functional testing and checks covering hydraulic movement, travel performance, fasteners, paint finish and buyer-specific configurations. Buyers who want to review the process in more detail can visit the ACE mini excavator factory and inspection page.

Those checks are far less glamorous than a Times Square screen. For an equipment buyer, they are considerably more useful.

Does a Nasdaq Billboard Mean ACE Machinery Is Nasdaq-Listed?

No. Appearing on the Nasdaq billboard in Times Square does not mean that ACE Machinery is listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market.

Nasdaq MarketSite sells commercial advertising opportunities on the Nasdaq Tower, Nasdaq Marquee and other Times Square displays. A company can therefore appear on those screens as part of a branding campaign or corporate milestone. Source: Nasdaq MarketSite Advertising.

A stock-market listing is a completely different process. Nasdaq’s Initial Listing Guide states that companies applying to the Nasdaq Capital Market must meet formal financial and liquidity criteria. Depending on the applicable standard, requirements include at least 1 million unrestricted publicly held shares, 300 unrestricted round-lot shareholders and three market makers, alongside additional financial requirements. So the simple version is easy to remember: big screen = brand visibility; stock-market listing = securities regulation. They are not the same thing.

FAQ About ACE Machinery and the Nasdaq Times Square Billboard

Why did ACE Machinery appear on the Nasdaq billboard?

The Times Square appearance marked ACE Machinery’s long-term development from a Chinese compact construction equipment supplier toward a more internationally recognized machinery brand. It was a branding milestone rather than a stock-market announcement.

What does ACE Machinery manufacture?

ACE Machinery supplies 1–3.8 ton mini excavators and attachments for contractors, dealers and rental companies. Its attachment range includes hydraulic breakers, augers, quick hitches, buckets, grapples and rakes, while its factory process covers fabrication, assembly, testing and export inspection.

What should overseas buyers check before choosing a mini excavator supplier?

Buyers should look beyond machine weight and price. Engine compliance, hydraulic configuration, attachment compatibility, inspection procedures, spare-parts availability, export documentation and after-sales technical support can all affect the machine’s real operating cost after delivery. ACE also maintains a mini excavator buyer FAQ covering model selection, engine options, attachments, shipping and support.

From a Big Screen Back to the Factory Floor

Times Square gave ACE Machinery a visible moment in New York, but a construction equipment brand cannot live on visibility alone.

The more meaningful work still happens around steel structures, engines, hydraulic hoses, electrical systems, attachments and final inspections. That work is not displayed on a seven-story screen, and it probably receives fewer photographs. Engineers may consider that unfair.

But it is exactly where long-term customer confidence is built. For ACE Machinery, the Nasdaq Times Square billboard represents a milestone in a journey that began with manufacturing and continues through global dealers, contractors and equipment users. After more than 30 years of export experience, the objective is straightforward: keep improving the machines, keep improving the support behind them, and build a construction equipment brand that customers are confident to use and distributors are proud to represent.
